The finished zipper bags....


Finished three for myself. I am using the green one for my purse now. I made two others because I have a feeling my girls will ask to use one. They are kind of hard to make, at least when you get to the ends, the sewing the edges with the zipper ends gets a little tricky, but I love how they turn out. I am just making these for myself and as gifts, not to sell, it is too tricky to get the stitching perfect and I just wouldn't be happy with them.
So two happy things, I have three very cool zipper bags and the sewing machine is off the kitchen table again for awhile.

Those truly are zipper bags! No joke! It looks like you did a great job seaming them, did you overlap a tiny amount and sew them from the top? When you get to the end of the seam I would think it would be difficult to keep the needle from carrying the end into the feed dogs. WONDERFUL IDEA for bags, sturdy material and easy to open. Congratulations. I don't have a lot of sewing on my blog, but I did add a page of crocheted lace, the main focus is my painting. I'm going back to look at more of yours now!

Thanks for posting Dianne. To answer your question is I sew them flat with a slight overlap first, being careful to make sure not to miss the edge, which happens often ugh. Then I sew the side seams, this is hard because of all the ends and zipper tops, but if you go slow you get a pretty good seam. Time and patience is key with these but I do love the outcome.
