morning...

So my creative slump still hasn't lifted, but I am working to climb out of it and I know one day it will lift and there will be artistic light again. I have received encouragement from many great artist friends of mine, who I admire both for their work and as just nice people. One such artist, Jerise, wrote me this today
"Do you know the story about the emperor and the artist? the emperor went to a famous artist and asked him to draw a rooster, because the emperor loved roosters. the artist told him to go away & come back in five years. when the emperor returned five years later, he found the artist sitting. he asked him for the rooster. the artist took out a sheet of paper, and in less than a minute drew the most wonderful rooster and gave it to the emperor. the emperor asked him, if he could do it in one minute, why did he ask him to wait?? the artist said, "it took me five years to learn to do this."

Jerise always has great words of wisdom to share! What would we do without her! I think you should just fling some paint at a canvas and go from there! :O)

Look at it this way Bella, now you have your blog to assist you in maintaining a rhythm even when you are not actually painting. Hopefully you will be out of the doldrums soon. Take care.
